PerformancePoint 2007 CTP1 - Permissions required when setting up a data source in the Planning Admin Console

Just a quick note:

If you are setting up new data sources via the PerformancePoint 2007 Planning Admin Console, in order to connect you need to give the PerformancePoint Server Identity account privileges on the database rather than the Planning Global Administrator that you are probably logged in as. You will have set this account up during the Planning Server install (page 8 of the install guide).

Hope that saves you 1 or 2 minutes of scratching your head Smile

I hope by Planning Server Identity Account, you meant the account from which the planning service runs. My planning service is running with Network Service Account, though i did not specify it at the time of installation, i canged it later. All my application pools are also running with Network Service accont.

When i tried to connect with the AdventureWorksDW database using PAC, it gave me an error that

"Temporary Errors are causing problems in the planning application. Please try again latter".

I even assigned read priviledges to Network Service Account on AdventureWorksDW database.

Still the same error.
