If You have one of these invitations below then you don't have long to wait until Apple and Steve jobs unveils the Fall / Christmas line up from Apple.
Of course we are expecting some new iPods and there has been plenty of speculation on what we can expect - but I'm not going to do that here (well maybe iPhone 2.1 firmware!) - like any Christmas - I will wait until the present is unwrapped tomorrow however the only concrete element that I know of is from Peter Oppenheimer (Apple's CFO) who mentioned in the summer that a “significant product transition” that would of course effect Q4 figures.
What Apple will try to do however is make sure that the event in Yerba Buena Center for the Arts San Francisco is much more solid and polished due to the issues that Apple faced this year - forget the fact that the 3G iPhone and Apps Store were huge successes - that was to be expected - what those of us with Apple at our core {groan!} were concerned with was the negative publicity and the ongoing issues of delays with the iPhone 3G launch and the terrible network speed of the new phone the fact that I had to re-install twice, roll back then upgrade showed that indeed there was some flaws with the previous flawless Apple product!
The switch between .Mac to the shiny new MobileMe was - well nothing short but an unholy disaster! As subscribers we were offered 60 day extension followed by a further 30 day extension giving an impressive free 90-day extension to their subscribers - as a way to say sorry - and that sometimes the Cupertino gang don't quite get things right - but are at least big enough to say so! (Vista???)
Special invitations to the media only - but retailers around the world will be looking to Apple to help spark some kind of retail excitement at Christmas time - but after everything else a flawless event with solid products would do Apple better than try to change the world, again!
We have also sniffed the latest Zune hardware with 8Gb and 130Gb version popping up all over the place - with some spanking new features such as “Device to Cloud”, “Games” and “Channels” - but not sure that will be a saviour to either the digital media industry or retailers.
Full report on what is hot tomorrow...ish!
