Outlook 2007 indexing issue

A user here at Conchango was having a problem of his outlook 2007 not indexing all his emails correctly and therefore when he went into search it could find anything earlier than last week Wednesday. I found the solution and thought would be helpful for anyone else with the same problem. His machine had windows vista installed which means the solution differs from if you have windows XP.

Outlook searches on a Vista machine uses the VISTA indexing. all you do is click on the start button go to search (if it isn't already at the bottom) and type in index and this should bring up indexing options for you. open this and it should show the image below

All I did was force re-indexing by clicking on the advanced tab and selecting reindex. WARNING this does fix it but may take a long time if your hard drive has a very large amount of data on it.

Hope this helps someone.

Also as I've said in my previous posting:

If you too want to "ramble" on the prestigious Conchango blogging site like me send me a mail with your at gregg.robertson@conchango.com and I will be more than happy to pass it on for you and you will also be helping out the "Allow Gregg to buy more Playstation 3 games" fund which can only be a good thing.

Gregg,

You might want to point out that in order to blog on this site they need to be Conchango employees. I had an email from someone the other day who was puzzled why he had registered on here but wasn't able to post anything (and he was asking me to sort it out for him which p!ssed me off but anyway, that's another issues)
