SSIS Junkie

E3 : ETL, EAI & EII

Previously I have talked about ETL and EII, Analysis Services's support for EII & SQL Server Integration Services's (SSIS's) support for EII without explaining too much about what EII actually is - largely because I didn't know.

Well, I have now come across a very useful article that explains the differences between ETL, EAI & EII; 3 complimentary yet distinct disciplines in the arena of data integration. Specifically it contains a table outlining the pros and cons, in the authors' opinion, of each.

There's not much point in me summarising here so click through to the article if you're interesting in finding out more.
