For most of the past 18 months I have been working on a series of projects for one of the world's major oil companies. In that time I have been working with various Conchango luminaries and associates such as Mick Horne, Christian Wade, Andy Britcliffe, Rob Grigg, Dan Williams, Manoj Oswal, James Pipe & Darren Green most of whom, if you subscribe to the Conchango blog feed, will be familiar to you.
If you read Mick's blog, The Galloping Data Architect, then you will already know a bit about the project. You will know that we started out in Aberdeen in Scotland and some of us have now moved to California in an attempt to carry on the good work done in the UK. My role is Lead ETL Developer however I find myself dragged into quite a lot of other disciplines and as such have spent alot of time working alongside Mick who is the Lead Data Architect and is one of the principle architects of SoBI (more on that later).
I would like to share with you some of my experiences. Specifically I'm going to be talking about the following:
These posts will be nothing to do with SSIS, SQL Server, DBPro or any of the other things that I normally write about. They will be concerned with technical and data architecture meanderings. I hope you will allow me to indulge myself for a short while - normal service will be resumed soon.
