Yesterday evening I attended the latest UK SQL user group conflab at Microsoft’s offices in Cardinal Place, London.
Here was the agenda:
6:00 - 6:30 Meet & Greet
6:30 – 6:45 Intro, whats in the news, Q&A – James Rowland-Jones, Christian Bolton & Tony Rogerson.
6:45 – 6:50 – Dev Nugget – James Rowland-Jones
6:50 – 6:55 – Admin Nugget – Christian Bolton
6:55 – 7:00 – Open Mike Slot – Tony Rogerson
7:00 - 7:45 Using Table valued parameters - James Boother.
7:45 - 8:10 Networking with Beer and Pizza
8:10 - 9:00 Brokering Innovation in SQL Server – Simon Munro
As usual it was a great session, I learnt a lot from James’ TVP demos and Simon’s demonstration of using Service Broker to efficiently pass a 22MB file from one server to another was fascinating. Simon has posted all the code on his blog at Brokering Innovation in SQL Server and asks that if you are downloading the code then simply leave a comment saying so.
The next meeting is on 20th November so if you can get to Reading get registered, get it in your calendar, and I’ll hope to meet you there.
