It has been a really busy week (and continues to be) for the various communities we are part of:
Wednesday 27th January – London .Net User Group
EMC Consulting hosted Ian Cooper and the London .Net User Group. Seb Lambla presented on OpenRasta. It started with a quick intro to OpenRasta and ReST followed by a preview of the upcoming features of the 2.1 release.
Thursday 28th January – The Fantastic Tavern
Matt Bagwell and I hosted #TFTLondon in Katzenjammers. We brought together 71 taverniers to discuss what is hot and what is not in 2010. The hottest trend was fun & playfulness with anti-trends and the 30 second advert coming out at the bottom of the pile.
Friday 29th January – Community Leaders Day
Microsoft held a Community Leaders Day to bring together a selection of leaders from the UK communities (myself included). We all went to TVP to talk about how Microsoft can help support the Community. We are really fortunate as the Silverlight User Group is already well supported by Microsoft but watch this space for the other user groups.
Saturday 30th January – Developer Developer Developer
On Saturday #DDD8 was the 3rd most popular hashtag in the UK and it is not surprising. The day is put together for the community by the community.
Wednesday 3rd February – Silverlight User Group
Next week I will be hosting the #SLUGUK at Microsoft’s Cardinal Place. We have Mike Taulty giving a guided tour of the managed extensibility framework (MEF) in Silverlight 4 and Johannes Kebeck on working with Bing Maps Silverlight Control
Monday 8th February - The Fantastic Tavern New York
We are taking #TFT overseas so will be hosting our first one in NY on Total Experience Design.
So all in all an excellent time for the community with lots more fun planned….
