My day job at Conchango is as a senior technical consultant. More specifically working to design and develop Java based Applications and solutions for our clients within the UK and occasionally further afield. Our solutions are client focused, no two projects are ever the same. Learning new technologies and approaches 'on the job' is part and parcel of the way we deliver solutions. It helps us grow and stay up to-date with the ever changing technologies out there.
However this is not my only role, I also wear the hat of a pre-sales consultant working with our sales team to respond to RFP's and attend pitches.
Oh, and you can also add a smattering of interviewing, mentoring, career appraisal, and training guidance into the pot.
The exact ratio of all the above tend to fluctuate widely depending on the projects in progress, the time of the year and other in-tangible factors.
One thing is certain however one day is never the same as another, and variety as they say is the spice of life. Maybe this is why I still find myself being challenged and interested even after 10 years at Conchango.
This blog I suspect be primarily technically focused, I'm naturally inquisitive, I want to know how things work. I like simple solutions, alternative approaches and practicality. Lets see what happens...
