On Thursday this week Jamie Thomson (of SSIS Junkie fame) and I will be presenting at the London SQL Server User Group which will be held at Microsoft’s offices in Cardinal Place and you can still register for the event online. The pre-planned topic is ‘SQL Server in the Cloud’ and JRJ, who normally organizes the event, is out of town – so Jamie and I are going to go rogue (maybe). Jamie is going to talk about the new stuff that is coming soon in SDS and, unless you have been following the unfolding SDS saga closely, it is really useful to see what is on the horizon for SDS as well as Jamie’s views. I will be presenting a session on the considerations for DBAs on cloud and other web based data storage and interfacing mechanisms – I am also working on a demo that hooks SQL Server up to Azure Tables (if I finish it in time).
So, if you are interested in this new fandangled cloud thing and want to see where SQL Server fits in to the picture join us on Thursday night for some talk, networking, beer and pizza – all for free, you only need to pay attention.
