Don’t install Vista July CTP if you actually want to do any WPF development!

There are actually no Visual Studio “Orcas” development tools for the July CTP!

Your best bet seems to be perhaps the June CTP. For me this means foregoing decent NVidia drivers that actually work – so I’ll probably carry on with my WPF development on my XP/WinFx (.NET 3.0) Beta 2 machine for now...

However, July CTP does have support for Media Center Extender on the Xbox 360 in countries other than the US ....

You can actually install the June CTP Orcas extenstions over alongside the July CTP WinFX bits. To do so, you run the June CTP Orcas installer from the command line:

msiexec /i vsextwfx.msi WRC_INSTALLED_OVERRIDE=1
